A personal look at how Petals Planners began, what we offer, and why helping couples celebrate well has become such a meaningful part of this journey.
Over the past few months, something exciting has been taking shape behind the scenes. What started as conversations, ideas, and a shared love for weddings slowly turned into something real: the beginning of Petals Planners, a wedding planning and event business Brittany and I have been building together.
For me, this feels like a natural extension of the work I have always loved. Through media, blogging, and creative projects, I have always been drawn to storytelling and meaningful moments. Weddings hold so much emotion, beauty, and intention, and being able to help couples enjoy that season with less stress and more support feels incredibly rewarding.
As a wedding planner serving couples in Maryland, especially in Cumberland and Western Maryland, I have seen how valuable it is to have thoughtful support during the planning process. So many couples are excited, but also overwhelmed by timelines, vendor decisions, setup details, and all the moving pieces that come with a wedding day.

One of the first things we created for couples was a free vendor resource to help make planning feel less overwhelming. Finding trusted wedding vendors can be one of the hardest parts of planning, especially when couples want options that feel local, relevant, and easier to sort through.
That is why we created a vendor guide and a growing vendor list through Petals Planners. These resources are meant to help brides explore venues, photographers, DJs, caterers, and other wedding professionals in a more approachable way.

Still, that is part of what makes this chapter so meaningful. It is not just about launching something new. It is about building something with heart, creativity, and purpose. It is about creating a business that helps people during one of the most important seasons of their lives.
What started as a shared passion for weddings has turned into a business built around support, creativity, and meaningful celebrations.

What I love most is that this business combines so many parts of who I already am. It blends creativity, communication, organization, storytelling, and real connection.
