4th of July Maryland 250 Celebration
This year’s celebration is especially historic as Allegany County joins communities across the country in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
The free celebration at Canal Place and throughout downtown Cumberland will feature:

- Food vendors
- Art displays
- Liberty Tree planting
- Community time capsule ceremony

Cumberland Fireworks
No Fourth of July celebration is complete without fireworks. Cumberland’s annual display will light up the night sky over Constitution Park.
Bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and enjoy one of Western Maryland’s favorite holiday traditions.

Frostburg Derby Day & Community Celebrations
Head to Frostburg for a day of community celebrations, local shopping, and holiday festivities. The annual Frostburg Elks Derby Day returns for its 49th year, bringing together residents and visitors for one of the area’s favorite Fourth of July traditions.
Throughout the holiday weekend, downtown Frostburg businesses and community organizations will also host celebrations, specials, and family-friendly activities.

Summer Music at Canal Place
If you’re looking for additional entertainment during the holiday weekend, don’t forget about the Levitt AMP Cumberland Music Series held throughout the summer at Canal Place.
These free concerts have become a favorite Cumberland tradition and provide a great opportunity to enjoy live music while spending time downtown.

The celebrations don’t end with the Fourth of July weekend. I’ll also be attending the Frostburg City Place Craft & Vendor Show the following Saturday, and it looks like a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses and artisans.
